More innovative logistics

Together with our suppliers we are working to secure deliveries to satisfy the increasing needs for natural gas in Europe. Gazprom has a double responsibility: as a shareholder on the one side and as the most important supplier on the other.  This 15-year partnership with the world's largest natural gas producer in Russia has been established for the long term.  One clear indication of this is that in 2004 purchase agreements for Russian natural gas were extended through to 2030 - with increased volumes. Russian natural gas reaches the WINGAS pipeline network at three transfer points: at Frankfurt an der Oder (Brandenburg state), near Olbernhau on the German-Czech border and at Burghausen on the border to Austria.

To round off and optimize our European-wide contract portfolio we also purchase natural gas from the North Sea. In 2004 we established new partnerships in this area. We purchase additional volumes of North Sea gas from the Italian energy corporation ENI S. p. A. (ENI). We also receive British North Sea gas at Bunde on the Dutch-German border, at Zeebrugge in Belgium and at Eynhatten on the German border near Aachen. For gas transportation up to the German border, WINGAS has entered into long-term transport contracts to lease the appropriate pipeline capacities from natural gas carriers in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Belgium.

WINGAS has also accessed various international gas trading points, such as the spot market in Zeebrugge, for many years. Together with our suppliers: that means security for our customers, but also for the employees and shareholders of WINGAS.
