In the 2016 financial year, WINGAS increased its sales compared to the previous year by 26 % to 795 billion kilowatt hours. Despite far higher sales, revenue went down by 9.5 percent compared to 2015 to around 12.995 billion euros due to the much lower price level in the natural gas markets.
Natural gas sources of WINGAS
WINGAS buys natural gas from producers in the North Sea and from Russia. Around 40% of this comes from Siberian gas fields.
The majority of the gas is delivered either via the Yamal-Europe pipeline through Belarus and Poland or directly to Western Europe via the Nord Stream pipeline through the Baltic Sea.
