The ASUE German Gas Industry Prize up for grabs again
Berlin/ Kassel. Projectsfor this year’s German Gas Industry Prize for Innovation and Climate Protection can be nominated until 29 October. Inventors, practitioners, engineers and scientists can apply for the prize in the categories PRODUCTS, ENERGY CONCEPTS, SCIENCE and MOBILITY. “With this prize we would like to pay tribute to particularly innovative ideas for climate protection that encourage the efficient use of natural gas,” explains Dr. Ludwig Möhring, President of the ASUE (Working Group for Energy Conservation and Environmentally Friendly Energy) and Managing Director responsible for Sales at WINGAS.
The competition focuses on gas-based efficiency technologies and processes, also in combination with renewable energies, which ensure that natural resources are used very wisely and carefully. Excellent ideas and technologies for energy-efficient applications, conversion, transport and storage solutions highlighting the potential for innovation offered by natural gas are welcome. The projects should be an expression of the commitment of the initiators to climate protection and conservation of resources.
This year’s competition is being held under the patronage of the German Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Construction and Reactor Safety, Dr. Barbara Hendricks, and is being sponsored by the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW), the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water (DVGW) as well as Zukunft ERDGAS e.V. and the German Energy Agency (dena). The award ceremony is being held on 25 November 2014 in Berlin.
The award upholds the principle of an economical and environmentally friendly consumption of energy adopted by ASUE when it was founded in 1977, and which is still relevant to this day. The rational and efficient use of energy helps to protect the earth’s atmosphere now and in future.
Applications are welcome from companies and employees from industry, business, trades, public-sector institutions and science.
