Energy company donates 25,000 euros to charitable organizations
Kassel. Once again this year, the energy company WINGAS is supporting selected institutions and organizations in Kassel, where it is headquartered, with donations totaling 25,000 euros. “Social commitment, especially for children and youngsters, is a primary concern of the WINGAS Group. With our Christmas donation we aim to support and facilitate the valuable and important work these institutions and the dedicated people at them do,” says WINGAS Chairman Gerhard König. “Of course, we also wish to raise awareness of these projects with our donation. Because what they achieve with modest means is huge.”
This year WINGAS is supporting the “Ambulanter Kinderhospizdienst Kassel e.V.” (Kassel Ambulant Children’s Hospice Service), the “Verein für krebskranke Kinder e.V.” (Association for Children with Cancer) and the initiative “Kinder für Nordhessen” (Children for North Hesse) of the daily newspaper Hessisch/Niedersächsische Allgemeine.
The Kassel Ambulant Children’s Hospice Service aims to improve the quality of life of children with life-shortening diseases and that of their families. Affected families are supported and accompanied from diagnosis of the illness to after the death of the children. Around 30 voluntary staff work for the Children’s Hospice Service.
The Association for Children with Cancer was founded in 1987 by affected parents, doctors and hospital staff with the idea of being there for needy people. Apart from sharing personal experience, the association’s members work to keep on improving the care and support given to young cancer patients by means of concrete changes. The focus is on ensuring the mental and social well-being of patients and their families.
The initiative “Children for North Hesse” helps increase the opportunities for disadvantaged children at primary schools and so improve their learning success. This is also encouraged by means of sports projects aimed at helping eliminate a lack of exercise and avoiding aggressive behavior. The initiative was launched in 2007 by the newspaper HNA and is supported by companies, institutions and citizens from the region.
WINGAS is one of Germany’s largest natural gas suppliers. The energy company is active in natural gas trading across Europe: in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, the Netherlands and the UK. Its customers include municipal utilities, regional gas suppliers, industrial facilities and power plants.
More energy – together.
