Successful trade fair presentation at E-world

Berlin/London/Kassel/Essen, 21 February 2020: With over 25,000 visitors and 800 exhibitors, E-world in Essen, which took place from 11th to 13th February, has once again proved that it is the leading trade fair for the energy industry in Europe. One of the biggest attractions at the fair was the GPG Group's corporate stand, in collaboration with WINGAS and Gazprom Marketing & Trading (GM&T) which provided the perfect opportunity to initiate joint discussions with their customers and visitors.

For the third time in a row the companies presented the business activities of the GPG Group and promoted natural gas as an energy source. Together, WINGAS and GM&T have made it clear that natural gas plays a central and reliable role in Europe's energy supply. The high interest in hydrogen and the increased demand for natural gas show that gaseous energy carriers are now particularly needed in Europe. “The desired energy change is not possible without climate-friendly, economically viable and technologically versatile fuels. Natural gas meets all these requirements better than any alternative, stated Matthias Peter, Head of Marketing, WINGAS. Together with our customers, we continue to develop our modern product and service portfolio, cementing our contribution to a secure, climate-friendly and affordable energy supply”.

E-world was an excellent opportunity for WINGAS and GM&T to present their strong presence in Europe and to meet current and potential business partners, customers and other players in the energy sector and discuss business relationships. Great importance is attached to direct contact and exchange with people. “These face to face interactions help us to discover what our customers’ needs are and how we can work together to progress issues. This year, the discussion topics revolved around the future energy landscape and national emissions trading. According to energy experts, natural gas is not only a bridging technology, but an essential building block in the energy supply of the future,” commented Marcus Mentel, Head of Account Management Germany, WINGAS. Industrial customers rely heavily on natural gas which will be indispensable for  municipal utilities in the future.

Fibre optic cables
Another important topic of this year's exhibition was the digitalisation and expansion of the IT infrastructure with fast fibre optic cables in Germany and Europe. The WINGAS Marketing Assets department, who are responsible for expanding and marketing fibre optic cables, took this as an opportunity to promote its business. "For us the trade fair was an absolute success," explains Head of the Department Thomas Böhlert. WINGAS Marketing Assets sponsored the Fibre Optics Forum, which as part of E-world for the second year and was organised by the industry association for broadband communication (BREKO), among others. "We used the event effectively and were on site with our entire account management team to explain our sales opportunities and our product portfolio," said Böhlert.
