Top KHL clubs compete in Kassel

HC Slovan Bratislava, Dinamo Riga and HC Vityaz embark on the new season with Kassel Huskies

Kassel. World-class ice hockey in Kassel: As the main sponsor for the three KHL clubs Slovan Bratislava, Dinamo Riga and HC Vityaz (Podolsk), the Europe-wide natural gas supplier WINGAS is one of the major backers of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

Fans in Kassel can now experience the quality of the KHL, which is also winning spectators in Western Europe: From 8 through 10 August 2017, Bratislava, Riga and Vityaz will compete along with Kassel Huskies from the 2nd German Ice Hockey League (DEL2) for the WINGAS Cup.

“We are delighted to present great ice hockey in Kassel by staging the WINGAS Cup,” states Nicholas Neu, Head of Corporate Communication at WINGAS. All four teams will play against each other. The team with the most points, or the better goal difference in the event of a tie, will take the trophy.

“The WINGAS Cup enables us to measure ourselves against clubs from one of the best ice hockey leagues. That’s ideal preparation for the upcoming season,” says Joe Gibbs, Managing Director of Kassel Huskies and co-host, in keen anticipation of the tournament. Gibbs expects people to come from all over Germany to watch the games.
