Voice for natural gas: Ulrike Saße speaks for WINGAS

Ulrike Saße, who became new spokeswoman of WINGAS on 1 May 2012, will largely focus within the Wintershall Group on strengthening the position of natural gas. WINGAS, a 50/50 joint venture between Germany’s largest crude oil and natural gas producer Wintershall and Russia’s Gazprom, is one of Germany’s leading natural gas providers.

Ulrike Saße was previously editor-in-chief of the WINGAS customer magazine Gaswinner, where she played a decisive role in its further development. Saße will provisionally continue this work on an interim basis. The graduate sociologist began her career with an internship at AOL Deutschland.
“Irrespective of the precise course taken by the energy turnaround, natural gas is the perfect partner on the way to a green future,” explains Michael Sasse, Head of Press and Public Relations at Wintershall. “As a partner for the municipal utility companies, WINGAS and Ulrike Saße will provide event greater support in future in communicating this course. As a strong voice for natural gas.”
WINGAS is one of the largest suppliers of natural gas in Germany. Besides the energy company is active in natural gas trading across Europe – in Belgium, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Austria, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic and brings fiber-optic capacities for telecommunications to the market. Its customers include municipal utilities, regional gas suppliers, industrial firms and power stations. WINGAS companies also market transport and storage capacities. Since 1990 the WINGAS Group has invested about 4 billion euros in developing the energy infrastructure. Its storage facilities make the WINGAS Group one of the largest storage facility operators in Europe. This includes the natural gas storage facility in Rehden in North Germany, which is the largest natural gas storage facility in Western Europe.
