Successful and improved silver rating in 2022: With its environmental and social standards, WINGAS once again lands in the top 25% of companies rated worldwide by EcoVadis in this category.
Taking on social responsibility in the sense of sustainable business - CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) for short - is becoming increasingly important in global economic relations and also for WINGAS. Sustainability and greater transparency along the supply chain are playing an increasingly important role for companies in an intensely competitive environment and while achieving German and European climate protection targets. This is because purchasing decisions for a supplier are no longer made solely based on price, but also based on sustainability criteria and international quality standards.
"The EcoVadis CSR rating is an important benchmark for us and our customers, showing us where we stand as a company in the area of sustainability. We are proud to receive the silver award for the fourth time in a row, which motivates us to continue working on our sustainability strategy and to continuously improve," says Matthias Peter, Head of Marketing at WINGAS.
EcoVadis, which operates internationally, assesses suppliers on their sustainability performance using a holistic corporate responsibility rating. The evaluation focuses on 21 criteria, which are divided into four overarching areas (environment, labour practices and human rights, fair business practices, sustainable procurement). The evaluation results are made available on the collaborative EcoVadis online platform, where companies can network and view their suppliers' rating results and scorecards.
The result this year is once again remarkable: WINGAS achieves the EcoVadis Silver Badge and even improved its overall score (from 57 to 61 points out of achievable 100 points). This puts WINGAS in the top 25% of companies assessed worldwide via EcoVadis in this category.
