WINGAS receives again the EcoVadis Silver Badge in 2023

06.03.2023

Successful silver rating in 2023: With this year's EcoVadis Silver rating, WINGAS' environmental and social standards once again ranked among the top 25% of the more than 100,000 companies in 175 countries assessed by EcoVadis.

For Matthias Peter, Chief Sales Officer SEFE Group and Managing Director of WINGAS, the priority is clearly on the continuous improvement of the actual sustainability performance: "The renewed silver rating supports our sustainability strategy and is an important benchmark for us and our customers.

This creates clarity regarding where we stand as a company in the area of sustainability and in which areas, we have potential for improvement."

Since 2019, WINGAS has submitted to the demanding CSR rating every year, in which the principles of sustainability are examined regarding their integration into the business and management system. "We are proud to receive the silver award again in 2023, which spurs us on to continue working on our sustainability strategy as a group and to improve continuously," Matthias Peter continues.

Assuming social responsibility in the sense of sustainable business - CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) for short - is becoming increasingly important in global economic relations and therefore for WINGAS as well. Sustainability and greater transparency along the supply chain are playing an increasingly important role for companies in an intensely competitive environment and in the course of achieving German and European climate protection targets.

Today, purchasing decisions for a supplier are no longer made solely on the basis of price, but also on the basis of sustainability criteria and international quality standards.

As an independent platform, EcoVadis assesses the sustainability performance of global supply chains. Around 100,000 companies from over 200 industries worldwide in more than 175 countries use the EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment for an objective evaluation of their environmental and social measures. The comprehensive audit includes 21 different indicators that are assessed in four main categories: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Topics such as health and safety also play an essential role in the evaluation. The evaluation results are made available on EcoVadis' collaborative online platform, where companies can network and view their suppliers' rating results and scorecards.
