Setting up individual fiber-optic data networks
WINGAS has been marketing fiber-optic capacities since 1996, making it one of Germany’s pioneers in this field. The Germany-wide WINGAS fiber-optic network connects you with all relevant economic regions. We currently have a fixed portfolio of around 8,500 kilometres of fiber-optic cabling available for leasing.
Apart from capacities in the fiber-optic cables (Dark Fiber), we also offer broadband connections to develop rural regions close to the natural gas pipelines.
Fiber-optic cabling “Dark Fiber”
For companies transporting very large volumes of data, leasing Dark Fiber is a major advantage. You benefit from a modern infrastructure, high availability of the fiber-optic network and fast and secure data transmission. The customer can lease unused fibers in the fiber-optic connections in pairs, and build networks using their own technology. We make technical sites available to you throughout Germany, so-called space to lease.
Space to lease
Through the provision of a complete infrastructure, you can set up your own system at the required points without much effort. The spaces to lease are usually equipped with an uninterruptible power supply, air conditioning and central access control and monitoring. The fibers are switched to the space to lease from central fiber-optic distribution boxes.
Since many German regions are not yet linked to the nationwide high-speed networks, WINGAS offers regional Internet service providers, telecom providers and municipal utilities the option to connect their local networks to its “high-speed backbone”. They can thus offer their private and business customers fast Internet connections. Since most of the WINGAS fiber-optic cables are primarily in rural regions, the latest generation of broadband connections can also be used here.
